The State Government has updated the Directions regarding visitors into residential aged care homes.
The Visitors to Residential Aged Care Facilities (Outbreak Restrictions (Level 3)) Directions shared with you yesterday have been revoked and the Visitors to Residential Aged Care Facilities (Circuit-Break-Lockdown -Level 3) are now in place.
These latest Directions remain largely the same, but now permit ‘care and support’ visits to residents, providing that no more than one person per resident makes a care and support visit on any given day. Most families will be familiar with this approach from previous Directions.
Care and support visits are generally interpreted by providers and accepted by the Government as a regular pattern of care and support to the resident. A person qualifies for a care and support visit when they are deemed to be a partner in care and have previous patterns of care.

All visits must continue to be done in a safe way, and this includes:
- Wearing a mask at all times.
- Visits to take place in a resident’s room.
- Social distancing to be maintained.
- Hand hygiene on entry and exit.
- Completing a health declaration by signing in via Zipline on arrival.
