Brightwater CEO Dr Catherine Stoddart recognised with Lifetime Achievement Award

Brightwater is proud to announce that our CEO, Dr Catherine Stoddart, has been awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2026 WA Nursing and Midwifery Excellence Awards. 

The honour recognises Cath’s extraordinary contribution to nursing, midwifery and healthcare over a distinguished career spanning more than 40 years across WA, Australia and across the world. 

Throughout her career, Cath has held senior leadership roles across clinical care, health reform, workforce development and executive leadership, including serving as Western Australia’s Chief Nursing and Midwifery Officer, Deputy Chief Executive and Chief Nurse at Oxford University hospitals NHS Trust in the UK, Chief Executive of NT Health, and now CEO of Brightwater Care Group. 

Widely respected for her compassionate leadership style and unwavering commitment to person-centred care, Cath has championed innovation, workforce development, education and improved outcomes for vulnerable communities throughout her career. 

Since joining Brightwater in 2022, Cath has led significant transformation across the organisation, helping strengthen services, support innovation and elevate the role of nurses and carers across aged care and disability services. 

We congratulate Cath on this well-deserved recognition and thank her for her outstanding contribution to the nursing profession and the wider community.
