Brightwater Central was filled with colour, music and movement as residents gathered to celebrate Lunar New Year.
Thanks to Life’s Possibilities funding, we were delighted to welcome The Chung Wah Association for a special cultural dance performance. The celebration brought traditional music and graceful choreography into the heart of the community, creating a vibrant and uplifting atmosphere.
Throughout the performance, dancers changed into different traditional outfits, with each piece offering something new and beautifully presented. Residents watched closely, clapped along and, at times, even joined in with a song or two.
Moments like this are about more than entertainment. They create opportunities to experience different cultures, spark conversation and share something joyful together. The energy in the room was warm and inclusive, with smiles spreading easily from one person to the next.
Celebrating cultural traditions helps strengthen connection and community, and Lunar New Year was no exception. It was a meaningful way to welcome the new year and spend time together in a shared moment of celebration.
