One in four Australians reported feeling lonely each week. But together we can change this.

Brightwater Buddies supports residents in our aged care and disability homes to stay socially active, in a time when connection with family, friends and the community isn’t always possible.

So far, we've connected over 750 people and brought back the value of human to human connection through letter writing and phone calls.

We want to take the next step and expand our Brightwater Buddies program to face-to-face social gatherings – ensuring already established connections continue to grow.

A message from some of our buddies

“It’s been absolutely beautiful receiving these letters and Isabella sounds lovely, it’s been great to hear from her.” - Valerie, Brightwater aged care resident

“It is lovely during this time when family and friends can’t see me as regularly as normal, I’m looking forward to the time when we can meet up.” - Isabella, Valerie's Brightwater Buddy

“For me, it was a truly moving and meaningful act to write to an unknown person to let them know they were not forgotten.” - Anne, Brightwater Buddy
