At our AGM this week we farewelled our Board Chair David Craig as he retires, after six years on our Board. David has made an enormous difference to the work of Brightwater during his time, and we all thank him for his service.

David welcomed Joanne Farrell as Chair of our Board, and her wealth of experience and expertise was noted by David in his farewell speech.

Joanne has held leadership roles in health, safety and environment, communications, government and community relations, and human resources in a long and successful career in the mining industry. She has also served on several not-for-profit boards and committees, including current roles with the Royal Flying Doctor Service (Western Operations), the University of Western Australia Senate, Western Australia Museums, the QEII Medical Trust and most recently Joanne was appointed Chair of SafeWork Australia.

David was gifted a Leaves of Life on behalf of Brightwater by our Chief Executive Officer, Catherine Stoddart. The Leaves of Life are located at the front of our new corporate head office and residential aged care home in Inglewood. They are part of an artwork featuring 460 stainless steel leaves that are engraved in honour of a person or an organisation with a connection to Brightwater.
