Music to our ears

It’s fair to say it has been a while since many of us have been able to enjoy live concerts.

So when Freeze Frame Opera visited Brightwater Onslow Gardens, residents were utterly delighted. With two opera singers and a musician performing on the back of their Ute, it was an extremely unique and intimate concert, and residents loved the experience.

Residents were invited to either listen from their window or space-out at the front of the property and watch from the driveway.

“What a simple production on the back of a Ute. The selection of music was wonderful and even if you hadn’t had an exposure to opera the music was familiar. The soprano and tenor dressed the part which was lovely with excellent voice projection. The accompaniment was also so professional. Thank you, thank you, thank you,” said a resident.

The visit was made possible by Life’s Possibilities, a Brightwater fundraising initiative which enables clients to take part in experiences which they might not otherwise have the opportunity to do.

The opera performance provided an opportunity for residents to enjoy something out of the ordinary and experience a concert like never before.

“It was so joyful. She was one of the best sopranos I’ve heard with a beautiful voice.  It took me back to the days when I was in the opera. She was such a lovely rich warm person and it enriched my heart,” said opera fan and resident.

Freeze Frame Opera is an independently run opera company in Perth who has recently taken their performances to the streets to ensure the community still had access to the arts.
