Brightwater wins ILC grant

Brightwater has won an Information Linkages and Capacity (ILC) Building Grant.

ILC is part of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) that supports community and mainstream services to include, support and involve people with disability.

The purpose of the grant is to increase the knowledge and capability of mainstream housing services to identify the needs of people with neurocognitive/psychosocial disability amongst marginalised groups and complex co-morbidity to receive housing services and facilitate the linking of these people with services to improve their lives.

Manager Disability Accommodation Services, Timothy Lo, said this opportunity paves the way for Brightwater to collaborate with service providers in the housing and accommodation space, which we have not done before.

"This is a natural progression for Brightwater Disability Services as we continue to support vulnerable clients with disabilities to navigate and access NDIS funding," Tim said.

"I’d like to acknowledge Brightwater’s NDIS Transition Coordinator, Debbie Nobre, who worked on the grant submission, and welcome Sarah-Jane Brummage to the ILC Coordinator role," he said.

Brightwater will collaborate on this project with stakeholders Foundation Housing and Synapse.
