The countdown is on! My name is Mark Elsing and I’m on a mission to break the world record of the longest distanced travelled in a wheelchair with one arm on the 3rd December.
Why am I doing this? I want to show people that anything is possible if you set your mind to it, and to celebrate my new normal.
I’m using this opportunity to raise money for the place I credit my life to, Brightwater Oats Street Brain Rehabilitation Centre.
I’ll be taking over Brightwater’s social media channels to share my journey with you every Wednesday in the lead up to the big event, which also coincides with International Day of People with Disability.
My training started many months ago, with Perth sporting legends including the West Coast Eagles, Perth Wildcats, Danny Green, Matt Fuller, Perth Heat and Perth Football Club throwing their support behind me.
Over the next 30 days I’m making the final big push in my training so that I’m ready to wheel the 10 kilometre distance, and I want to share that journey with you.
