As part of the Federal Government’s rollout of the COVID-19 vaccine program, Aspen Medical has been engaged to administer the COVID-19 vaccines to our clients and staff.
The Federal Government will advise us each week of when and how the vaccine is expected to be rolled out for clients and staff at each of our residential aged care and disability care homes.
We will be in touch with our clients and their families as we are provided more details around the specific plan for each of our homes.
The vaccine is available for free and while it is not mandatory, the Government and Chief Medical Officer are strongly recommending vaccination to all eligible persons unless they are unable to have it on medical grounds.Â
The Federal Government has provided consent forms to enable our residents and/or their listed decision makers to advise if they would like to be administered the vaccine.
We will distribute information regarding consent (and how to return the forms) to our clients and/or their substitute decision makers as we are made aware of the rollout program.
The Australian Government has also produced these information sheets about the COVID-19 vaccine:
- Information on COVID-19 Pfizer (Comirnaty) vaccine
- Preparing for COVID-19 vaccination
- What to expect on vaccination day
- After your COVID-19 vaccination
If you have any questions about the vaccine or the vaccination process, you should discuss this with your GP or call the National COVID-19 Helpline on 1800 020 080. If you have any questions for Brightwater, please email [email protected].
