A vibrant, intergenerational campus incorporating a contemporary 128 bed residential aged care community, a dedicated research centre and a new corporate office has officially commenced construction in Inglewood.
Brightwater Care Group’s new residential aged care, research centre and corporate head office has officially commenced construction with the Deputy Premier, Hon Roger Cook, on hand to turn the first sod.
Brightwater Care Group is a not for profit residential aged and disability care provider and, in a first for Western Australia, the new building will combine a corporate head office with a residential aged care facility and industry leading research centre.
CEO for Brightwater Care Group, Ms Jennifer Lawrence, said the development was an excellent example of Brightwater’s desire to continuously innovate.
“The design of the new building features shared community engagement spaces, for staff, clients, family and visitors to interact and socialise and is an inclusive space for all abilities.
“The residential aged care facility is designed on the small house model of care and has been designed the with client at the heart, catering to all care needs with a strong focus on being dementia friendly and facilitating independence and well-being. “
Whilst Brightwater Inglewood will include a contemporary 128 bed residential aged facility, the facility will be broken up into a series of small homes with up to 16 residents in each.
“This model breaks up the traditional distributed care model into smaller and more domestic ‘small homes’,” Ms Lawrence said.
“The ‘Small Homes’ are smaller, clustered communities that have their own self-directed team of care-givers, private living and eating spaces. They also encourage more personal and individual everyday routines, one that better reflects the everyday life our clients would have had in their own homes.”
Construction on the new development is anticipated to be completed mid-2022. To register your interest, click here.
