Brightwater has recognised Gail Milner’s outstanding contribution to the organisation and the broader health and aged care sector by awarding her Lifetime Membership.
The recognition acknowledges Gail’s service as a Brightwater Board Director and her lifelong commitment to improving care and outcomes for older people and people living with disability.
Gail’s healthcare career spans more than 50 years. Beginning as a registered nurse and midwife, she went on to become a respected health leader and public servant, helping shape healthcare policy and clinical reform in Western Australia.
Among her many achievements, Gail worked alongside sector leaders to advocate for dedicated residential care and rehabilitation services for younger people with disability, helping establish services including Oats Street and Marangaroo. She also played an important role in the aged care sector’s response to COVID-19.
As a Brightwater Director, Gail has brought her extensive clinical, health and governance experience to the Board, with a strong focus on quality, safety and research.
CEO Dr Catherine Stoddart PSM said Gail had been an important influence throughout her own career.
“Gail has been a mentor and a constant throughout my career, providing advice and encouragement during many phases, and I will always be grateful,” Cath said.
“Her contribution extends well beyond Brightwater. Gail has dedicated her career to improving health and care in Western Australia, and we have been incredibly fortunate to benefit from that experience on our Board,” she said.
“We thank Gail for everything she has contributed and congratulate her on this very well-deserved recognition.”
Brightwater congratulates Gail on her Lifetime Membership and thanks her for her contribution during her nine years on the Board.
