Supported Independent Living: A Home to Belong

Supported independent living (SIL) accommodation from Brightwater is designed so each resident achieves the best possible quality of life. The NDIS provides supported independent living funding for daily tasks, so people with disability can be independent and learn new skills while living in a Brightwater home. Brightwater has several supported independent living homes across Perth that will provide you with the support you need, in a place to call home.

Our experience in residential accommodation helps ensure each client achieves optimal results for their situation. When recommending placements, our independent living specialists consider where friends and family live, what’s around the new neighbourhood and if your new housemates are a good fit for you.

Brightwater is dedicated to offering comprehensive supported independent living services that empower NDIS participants to live as independently as possible while meeting their unique disability support needs.

We provide carefully managed and personalised care which encourages engagement with daily tasks, personal care, and cooking meals. All with the aim of building residents’ skills and ensuring even those with high support needs receive the support they need.

Brightwater’s approach to Supported Independent Living (SIL)

Brightwater’s SIL accommodation provides modern, comfortable living spaces and attractive community areas. Our houses are designed to give clients privacy and peace while enabling them to be as independent as possible.

A Brightwater support person is available to help with day-to-day tasks such as showering and getting dressed, cooking meals, and eating.

Our residential homes are:

  • Shared accommodation, each person has their own room
  • Close-knit and cosy
  • Supported by trained Brightwater staff, including sleepover shifts and overnight assistance
  • Accessible and functional, with modifications like hoists, ramps and handles if required
  • Close to local amenities, community services and public transport
  • Equipped with a shared computer and wi-fi access.

Our homes are tailored to different levels of support, so we’ll work with you to find a supported independent living vacancy that’s suitable for your needs.

How to get started

If you have SIL funding in your NDIS plan we can work with you to find a SIL home suitable for your needs where you can achieve your goals.

If you are beginning the process for SIL or waiting for your funding, let us know. We can show you the range of Brightwater options designed to help you find a place to call home.
