For Ron, ACDC isn't just a band that you chuck on in the background. He's been following along for decades, the soundtrack to his youth, and their music still runs through his veins.
Two years ago, Ron had a stroke and now uses a wheelchair, living with left-side paralysis. Since then, getting out to big events hasn’t always felt easy, and he’s spent more time at home than he’d like. But some things don’t fade, and his love for ACDC is one of them. If anything, it’s become even more important, cranking their music to push through his physio sessions.
Thanks to support from Life’s Possibilities, Ron headed to Optus Stadium in December to see ACDC live, surrounded by other die-hard fans who knew exactly why being there mattered. As soon as the band took the stage, the crowd came alive. The stadium buzzed with that familiar electric energy, people swapping stories, singing along and soaking up the atmosphere together.
The plan was to head off a little early and beat the crowds, but once the show started, Ron wasn’t interested in cutting it short. He was having too good a time. He stayed right through to the end, soaking up every song.
For one night, it was simple. Great music, a big crowd, and Ron right where he wanted to be.
