Here are some ideas of who can support you in getting the best NDIS Plan.

  • Family/friends/carer

    Access request

    • Ask any disability service providers that currently provide supports if they have any medical or allied health reports that can help with your person's access request
    • Support your person to get the required reports and evidence from health professionals

    Pre-planning

    • Assist your person with completing pre-planning tools
    • Make sure all the information about your person's support needs are gathered
    • Advocate for your person or seek help from an independent advocate

  • Advocacy organisation

    Advocacy organisations can:

    • Support you to connect with a Local Area Coordinator (LAC)
    • Refer you to agencies who can assist with access and pre-planning

  • Guardian/Administrator

    • Guardians can authorise that someone else can talk to the NDIA
    • Guardians may have copies of important medical information (or may be able to get this) needed

Please talk to the appointed guardian about:

    • Whose role it is to submit this information to the NDIA
    • Whether anyone else is permitted to talk to the NDIA
    • Any changes in circumstances (as this can affect the amount of supports needed)

  • Disability service provider

    Access request

    • Support your person to get the required reports and evidence from health professionals
    • Ask any disability service providers that currently provide supports if they have any medical or allied health reports that can help with your access request

    • Make sure all the information about your person's support needs are gathered
    • Advocate for your person or seek help from an independent advocate
