Our Services

Capacity Building is therapy support for adults living with complex disability, both privately and under the NDIS in WA. Brightwater provides a range of services to help our clients achieve personal goals and improve their quality of life. We prioritise communication and working together with each client.

Our clients are people who have acquired or neurological disability, physical disability or psychosocial disability. We specialise in the following services:

How we do it

Brightwater’s approach to capacity building centres around the individual and their personal goals for living the best possible life they can. Because every person is different, with different abilities and challenges, Brightwater’s Capacity Building team assesses each client and develops a program to help them achieve their goals, step by step.

Our Capacity Building team has expertise in three key areas:

Therapy services and skills for living

Living with a complex disability isn’t easy, but positive guidance from an experienced therapy team makes a big difference in achieving goals. Brightwater’s Capacity Building team offers personalised packages for people who live in their own homes and in the community.

Brightwater’s therapy team and skilled support workers partner with clients so they can gain the skills and independence needed to live their best possible life. The range of services focuses on improving skills in areas of personal care, healthy eating, managing budgets, using technology, keeping fit and active, social and community engagement, and using public transport.

Behavioural assessment and support

People with a disability and complex behaviours of concern often experience social isolation and high levels of anxiety. Each person is different, but behaviours of concern contribute to strained relationships and a sense of hopelessness for everyone involved.

Brightwater’s Behaviour Assessment and Support team is geared for adults with challenging behaviours. Our team includes psychologists, social workers and trained positive behaviour support staff. They help clients learn new ways to cope, better understand their environment, and safely reconnect with family, carers and social networks.

Equipment and assistive technology

Brightwater’s extensive experience, clinical expertise and product knowledge help clients continue to do the things they love while balancing health and budget. We partner with clients and suppliers to provide the best choices in specialised seating, equipment and postural care services. We assist with a broad range of equipment needs from complex customisations, sourcing the right wheelchair or even finding someone to repair worn upholstery.

We take the complexity out of the selection process to help clients make informed decisions. They can be confident they receive safe, reliable equipment that’s best suited to their needs and at a competitive price. In addition, we provide support, training and ongoing follow-ups to ensure long-term value.
