About Psychology Services

Brightwater’s psychology services are designed to help clients with complex disabilities have more fulfilling lives and improve their independence. Psychologists and social workers help clients understand behaviour triggers, learn new ways to manage situations, and reconnect with people they care about. Psychology services include:

  • Improving motivation
  • Developing independence, resilience and decision-making skills related to disability and goals.

What we do best

Brightwater’s Capacity Building Team provides support to people with complex disabilities so they can live as safely and independently as possible while working towards individual goals. They provide services to people who have an acquired or neurological disability, physical disability or psychosocial disability, including:

  • Acquired brain injury (ABI)
  • Stroke
  • Younger Onset Dementia (YOD)
  • Huntington’s disease
  • Parkinson’s disease
  • Multiple sclerosis
  • Damage to the brain caused by substance misuse or disease
  • Mental health conditions and behaviours
  • Physical disability.
