Do you have a family member, or know of a friend or neighbour that may be experiencing periods of isolation or loneliness?
Are they missing out on regular contact and that valuable human to human connection?
If so we can help by connecting them to a Brightwater Buddy.
Brightwater will match one of our Buddies to your loved one to provide a positive and meaningful connection.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Brightwater developed its virtual volunteer program to support residents in aged and disability homes expand their opportunity for social interaction, in a time when regularly being with family and friends and out and about in the community wasn’t possible.
We know that the simple act of having someone to talk to can go a long way to improve one’s health and overall wellbeing.
Thanks to the funding received from Woodside as part of its COVID-19 Community Fund we are able to expand our program to reach more people, and we were able to connect over 800 people from across WA with people in our aged care and disability homes in WA and bring back the value of human to human connection.
However, many in the broader community still remain isolated and lonely and we now wish to expand our program to reach those people.
Please consider referring a family member, friend or neighbour to the program and help bridge the loneliness gap that can overwhelm many in our community.
