Our development opportunities include:

  • Key site roles such as safety and health representatives, infection control representatives, manual handling champions and resource people, trainers and assessors, ACFI appraisers, iCare super users and other advanced skill roles
  • CHC33015 Certificate III in Individual Support, including Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing), Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) and Certificate III in Individual Support (Home and Community)
  • Supervisor development programs and/or the Excellence in Leadership and Management Program

Professional Development Opportunities

At Brightwater we encourage our staff to be progressive, to look for ways that they can help improve the service we provide and to embrace opportunities to expand on their personal and professional skills and capabilities in support of our Mission. Each year Brightwater offers staff a number of Professional development opportunities.

In 2022, we are offering a number of placements in three clinical training programs to support staff to enhance their professional skills and knowledge. The participants in these programs will get the opportunity to put their newly acquired expertise into good use by providing consultancy and coaching support for teams and individuals that would benefit from specialist skills in the areas the participant has studied.

Leaders Of Tomorrow

Brightwater is always planning for the future and this is true for our future leaders. Each year Brightwater runs  leadership and supervisory training programs, for staff wishing to enhance their leadership capabilities. Past participants have included, nurses, occupational therapists, speech pathologist, dietitians, IT team leaders, shift supervisors and many more.

Brightwater Traineeships

Traineeships are a great way to kick-start a career.

By combining practical work experience with structured training, you’ll get the skills and knowledge you need to be great at what you do.

Traineeships generally take between 12 to 36 months. You’ll be paid while completing your traineeship, which includes both on-the-job learning and off-the-job training.

Brightwater trainees can work towards nationally recognised qualifications in care services such as Ageing, Disability, Home and Community, and other areas such as Laundry Operations and Business.
