You can fund your At Home services in the following ways:

Government funding

The Australian Government heavily subsidises the cost of home care for pensioners.

As determined by an Aged Care Assessment Team (ACAT) or Regional Assessment Service (RAS), you will be funded by one of two Government initiatives:

Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP)

An entry-level program for clients with low care needs, as indicated by the RAS. Your assessment will indicate what services you’re eligible for, with the fees heavily subsidised by the Australian Government. The only thing you'll need to pay is a small hourly fee for the services you receive.

Home Care Packages (HCP)

A package available in four care levels, as indicated by an ACAT. With advice from health professionals if needed, you decide what services you want, with fees that comprise a basic fee and for some, an income-tested fee.

The basic fee is 17.5% of the age pension, revised twice yearly. The income-tested fee is assessed by the Department of Human Services, and is based on an assessment of your financial information, not including the value of your home or other assets.

Private funding

If you’ve been approved for At Home services but are waiting for your package, you can access services in the meantime.

If you haven’t received funding but would like to use At Home services, we can help with that too.

Private clients pay the full cost of the At Home services they select.
